Did World War III Begin with the War against Iran on 28 February 2026?

Some consider that World War II was simply a continuation of World War I and the two Wars form merely a single World War. But however closely the two World Wars were linked and despite the clear fact that the second was caused by the first, they are events which are separated by a generation. Following the two World Wars, some consider that a Third World War is inevitable in order to resolve the outstanding injustices left over from the Second, just as the latter was made inevitable after the injustices left over from the First. Some even consider that World War III has just begun. How do we look at this amid the death and destruction in Israel, Iran and on US bases in the Gulf?

The first very dramatic two months of 2026 opened with delusional American threats to the Greenland territory of its foolish ‘ally’ Denmark (when Trump takes Greenland, hypocritical Danish complaints will not be heeded); the unheard of kidnapping of the democratically-elected President of Venezuela, which cast aside all international law and the Charter of the all but dead United Nations, which has been dropped by Trump’s USA; the revelations that the Western world is ruled by a satanic Epstein class of perverts and cocaine addicts; threats the sovereignty of Cuba; a full-scale, unprovoked war against Iran. The USA has become a terrorist rogue state, an international pariah.

In the course of this latter insanity against Iran, the dictator of the American Empire from his Imperial Throne in the White House insulted Zelensky as ‘a circus director’ and called Starmer ‘no Churchill’. At least both those descriptions were blindingly obvious. Tell us something we did not know already. But otherwise, the narcissistic psychopath, Trump, has become a delusional megalomaniac. He has painted himself and his Western vassals and puppets into an oil-starved, food-starved and bankrupt corner. Will popular street protests begin against so-called Western ‘leaders’? It would seem quite possible, when the Western peoples start to suffer from rising prices.

In answer to our original question, we would say that World War III began on 9 May 1945, that is, as soon as World War II ended. Only weeks after the death of Roosevelt on 12 April 1945, Churchill proposed his insane ‘Operation Unthinkable’, an immediate triggering of war against the USSR. Although that scheme was rejected, the US still unnecessarily dropped two atom bombs on Japan, not against Japan, but as a warning to the USSR. So began the ill-named ‘Cold War’, the Third World War, which has in fact been a series of hot wars and terrorist overthrows of democracy throughout Latin America and Western Europe, in Italy and Greece (the colonels), in France and Germany.

In November 1963 the peace-making President Kennedy was cruelly assassinated, probably by the CIA. Then the USA changed from being a Constitutional Republic to an Autocratic Empire under the authoritarian Uniparty of oligarchs, as became apparent in the ensuing US genocide of two million Vietnamese. After the Western ideology of Marxism unsurprisingly bankrupted the USSR in 1991, there came the invasion of Afghanistan and the US rape of oil-rich Iraq after the Saudi attack on the USA on 9/11/2001. In 2004 came the first US attempt to usurp power in the Ukraine, which culminated in the bloodshed of 2014 and then genocide, which is ongoing now.

In 2019 came covid, the US attempt to seize power worldwide through biological warfare. That ill-thought through scheme backfired and panic among Western leaders, who knew what had happened, set in, as they attempted to lock up their peoples in a gigantic prison. There followed a second, Vietnam-style, humiliation of the US in 2021 in Afghanistan, that graveyard of empires from the Empire of Alexander the Great to the British and American Empires. Then came the US attempt to destroy and dismember Russia through its Ukrainian proxy, opposed on 24 February 2022, and next, on 28 February 2026, the US aggression against Iran both through its Israeli proxy and directly.

Some hope that Trump will fall so ill, either physically or mentally, that he will have to be removed by those around him. Others hope that he will be impeached for his many, many illegal acts, including those connected to the Epstein scandal. Others hope for regime change, that he will be assassinated in a palace revolt and be replaced by his Vice-President. The latter has clearly always been against the terrorist war on Iran and is not in any way compromised in the Epstein/Mossad scandal. However, for the moment all that Trump can do is beg Iran and Russia for a ceasefire again and again. However, this war will end only when Iran is no longer threatened.

Having with his ‘can-do-anything-I-want’, spoilt brat, American hubris ignored the advice of all, together with Israel he attacked Iran without provocation and without a strategy. This attack came after his failure to destroy Iran in his twelve-day war of decapitation in June 2025, and his failure to regime-change the country through the ill-organised protests of a few dissidents in January 2026. Civilisations do not depend on one man; Trump does not understand that, as he has no sense of history. Now Trump is desperately trying to find proxies, Kurds, Azeris or others, to fight for him. They are refusing to do so, and he is finding out that he has to order bodybags for his hundreds of dead troops.

As karma comes and Tel Aviv is being turned into a second Gaza, Trump’s ‘Board of Peace’ has been transformed into a Board of War, just as his Department of Defence is now the Department of War. His ‘Board of Peace’ will never replace the United Nations, as he recently dreamed. Trump, the new Charlemagne, is lost in his own delusional contradictions, for narcissists always believe in their own delusions. We know, as we had to deal with another narcissistic psychopathic bully in London, who leads an American sect. There is now only one thing stopping peace and that is Trump’s pride, for like all narcissists, he can never admit that he was wrong. Hubris goes before the fall.

The US fought for 20 years, killed hundreds of thousands and spent two trillion dollars in Afghanistan in order to replace the anti-Russian Taliban with the pro-Russian Taliban. Now in twelve days the US has killed thousands and spent twenty billion dollars in order to replace an anti-nuclear Khamenei with a pro-nuclear Khamenei. Oil is doubling in price since the US-Israeli war began and Ukrainianised Europe and the Ukraine are panicking. Now that Europe has ‘liberated’ itself from Russian oil and gas, it has also ‘liberated’ itself from Gulf oil and gas. Bravo to the geniuses of the European governing elite. Where was that elite educated? Or were they simply brainwashed by their ‘education’?

Soon oil will reach $120 a barrel and then $150 a barrel, effectively tripling. All thanks to that elite. To bring peace, and Iran is ready, if need be, for a ten-year long war of attrition, Iran has three demands: End the illegal US sanctions against Iran; Withdraw all US forces from West Asia and close all US bases in West Asia, in Israel, Iraq, Syria, Turkey and in the puppet monarchies of the Gulf, leading to the liberation of Palestine; Pay compensation to Iran for damage caused to its people since 1979. Then the liberation of West Asia, which is what this war is all about, will have been achieved and the peoples of the Gulf will have been liberated from their corrupt Western monarchies.

The Trump regime has shot itself in both feet – first in the Ukraine and now in Iran. No wonder the USA can no longer walk. Because of its defeat in the Ukraine, North Asia – led by Russia – is free, after 300 years of Western captivity, and it will take Western Europe, its Epstein elite overthrown, with it. East Asia – led by China – is also now free and it will take the former US puppets, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines and all Oceania, including Australia, with it. South Asia – India – will be freed once West Asia – led by Iran – is free. And Africa is already joining BRICS, ejecting the last European colonialists. The USA is being sent back home to Northern America.

The US regime has long been controlled by Israeli Zionists like Netanyahu and, before him, by Epstein, by alcoholics like Hegseth and Graham, and by other ‘Christian Zionists’. But there is no such thing as that. You cannot be a Christian and a Zionist. We shall call them Protestant Zionists, a heresy. There are, it seems, some seven million of these deluded Americans, only 2% of the population, but with huge influence. They believe that through wars in which millions of innocents die, they can hasten the coming of Antichrist and Armageddon. Thus, they do the devil’s work, for he loves it when people are massacred in wars, blood rituals in his name, especially World Wars.

Some are asking if Trump is the Antichrist. Obviously not. Do not flatter him. All the prophecies describe someone else, far more intelligent and cunning, and of another origin. But like many other recent US Presidents, he is most certainly a servant and forerunner of Antichrist. The Trump regime’s desperate divide and conquer strategy to try and remain No 1, can be seen in its desire for the Balkanisation of Russia, West Asia and any other country whose natural resources it wants to steal and control. However, Globalist Antichrist is resisted by the anti-centralising Sovereign Lands which are joining BRICS. We support that resistance, for we oppose Antichrist and his divisions and wars.

In reply to our own question at the beginning, we have said that World War III began long ago, in 1945, for there has been no peace in the world since 1945, only continual wars. Unlike the first two World Wars, World War III has not been a matter of four or five years. It has been going on continually in phases for over eighty years. Moreover, those phases have been global, ranging from Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, the Ukraine, Syria to Iran, wherever the Western elite is trying to force others into its Globalist straitjacket. But that elite, composed of Zionist psychopaths like Trump and his master Netanyahu, are the ones who need the straitjackets and the madhouse.

Europe and the Ukraine: Away From Union and Towards Federation?

The Return to Normality through the Renewal of Multipolarity

The post-1945 Western/Globalist Order is over. It is dying at its own hands, by suicide, having voluntarily cut itself off from cheap Russian energy. True, Western Europeans still cling on to their imperial and colonial illusions and the relics of that Order, like NATO and the EU. However, in the USA, on which that Order depended, they have been realising that it is over. Thus, on 1 February 2025 the U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio finally admitted this shift in the global power structure, stating that the unipolar (=US-controlled) moment was an anomaly and that the international community is returning to its multipolar framework. That multipolar world has been ushered in by the BRICS Organisation, founded by Russia in Ekaterinburg on the 90th anniversary of the martyrdom of Tsar Nicholas who foresaw it, but it is ignored by Western Europeans who are stuck in the past. This means that the USA is now again just one of the Great Powers in the world, having been pulled down by its hubris that caused it to overreach and go bankrupt amid a string of political, military and economic defeats. Those defeats have finally helped it realise the new reality.

Bodybags of UK and US Corpses from the Ukraine at Lakenheath

I live under the flight path which runs between the very important US base at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk, England, and Borispil, the main airport in Kiev. Flights overhead were very frequent in the second half of 2021. In October 2021 I saw why, when I visited Kiev again. I well remember seeing with surprise the massive numbers of NATO armoured vehicles and arms quite openly being unloaded and stored at Borispil in preparation for some new Kiev invasion of the Eastern Ukraine. These huge stores were among the very first to be destroyed by Russian missiles on 24 February 2022. Since then, flights from Lakenheath have varied in numbers according to the needs of NATO campaigning in its proxy war in the Ukraine, where the war is directed from the major US bases in Germany, in Wiesbaden and Rammstein. Last week a large US transport plane flew into Lakenheath from Kiev. According to someone I know well who works at the base, it was full of corpses of US and UK troops. These included those who had died after the Russian raid on Kharkov and their Special Forces raid on Ochakiv near Nikolaev, where three British operatives, officers and MI6, were captured.

Alaska Means Europe is Isolated

The bodybags in Lakenheath came against the background of the carefully-prepared meeting in Anchorage, Alaska last week. Russia only agreed to this, as Trump had promised to meet all the Russian conditions. We were reminded that, given Europe’s political, economic and military hostility to Russia, the latter no longer looks to Europe, but to Asia. As for the USA, given Europe’s political, economic and military irrelevance in today’s world, it too no longer looks to Europe, but towards Asia. We are reminded that even physically the USA and Russia are separated by only three miles, not by the Atlantic Ocean like Europe. Now it is Russia and the US versus old-fashioned Cold War Europe and the authoritarian puppet regime in Kiev. The old Unionist and aggressive Neo-Nazi Europe (the EU and UK elite) is isolated, only the inevitable and perhaps imminent fall of the already highly unpopular elites there can bring Europe back into the mainstream of the world. For the new USA and the new Russia are both set on finding a permanent peace that ends the proxy war, already lost by the West as Trump at least has realised, on the battlefield of the Ukraine.

Europe’s Shameful Decadence: The Fruit of Globalism and Liberalism

The Western European conglomerate (EU/UK/Kiev) is not only morally irresponsible (Globalism) but also morally decadent (Liberalism), like the ancient pagan Roman Empire. The leaders of ‘the Big Four’ (Germany/ UK/France/Kiev) are all said to be cocaine addicts. One of them certainly is, since the son of the former US President was one and supplied it in the Ukraine, where he lived. (He is also said to have done much worse than cocaine, but his laptop ‘disappeared’). Another is a senior agent for the US Blackrock financial company, which illegally owns much of the old Ukraine (and Germany). Another, a Rothschild banker, is said to be married to a man, who in any case is 24 years older than himself and whose relationship began when the future President was aged fourteen. And the final one, a ‘democrat’ who loves censorship and repression, is said to use Ukrainian male prostitutes and is in love with the Ukrainian dictator. The latter has been illegitimate since May 2024 and has banned the Church and all political opposition and opposition media. He was elected only because he promised to make peace, but instead made a disastrous war and ruined his country.

Europe Has No Cards To Play

It was clear that the USA had begged victorious Russia for the meeting in Alaska and that the Russian President only agreed to it because the US had at last understood Russia’s position and that the continuing war is now entirely the fault of the Kiev regime and its warmongering EU/UK backers. All the Western fantasies about a ceasefire, a frozen conflict, NATO ‘security guarantees’ and sanctions against Russia and its partners have disappeared. As the European vassals and warmongers, fawning on Daddy Trump’s ego, waited like schoolchildren in the corridor in the White House, Trump was teaching Zelensky a lesson about reality and giving him an exit strategy. All the talk that Russia is losing the war and has suffered huge losses is now known by the USA to be a mere ‘narrative’. If the bankrupt Europeans want to buy non-existent US arms with their non-existent money, they can still fantasise about that. The end of the war is in sight. There will be a new Ukraine, a much smaller one, with a democratic, federalised government and a free Church, and not ones imposed by the CIA and MI6. Europe’s problem is it wants peace, but refuses to negotiate.

Karma for Europe’s Double Standards

By psychological transfer the elite of Western European, founded on a millennium of genocide, accused Russia of ‘a full-scale, unprovoked’ invasion of the Ukraine. The Russian support for the liberation of eastern and southern Ukrainians from Kiev Fascism was small-scale and fully-provoked. Large-scale and unprovoked invasions, of Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere, were, however, carried out, but by the West. The Western elite always uses Orwellspeak, using the opposites to describe others, thus, patriots are called traitors, traitors patriots, authoritarians are called democrats and democrats authoritarians, Fascist Ukrainians are called liberals, even men are called women and women men.  Today the only Soviet Union is the European Union: both were and are run by Western totalitarian ideology. All of this is happening against the background of the demographic crisis, which means, quite literally, that Europe is dying out: the young are mainly immigrants, for Western women have an average of only 0.8 to 1.5 children, the worst case being of course the Ukraine. This suicide is run by the elite, which encourages illegal immigration.

The European Elite Cannot Sell its Failure to its Electorates

The highly unstable and ever-changing European elite of politicians and journalists etc is extremely unpopular with its electorates. The people now vote for new, anti-Establishment parties (AfD, National Rally, Reform etc). None of the elite was elected by even 25% of its electorates, and they have painted themselves into an ever-shrinking corner. Last Saturday only five European leaders out of twenty-seven even signed an anti-Peace statement issued by the unelected EU – the coalition of the unwilling indeed. The senior European elite does not want peace, which is why it tries to prevent peace in Washington. Peace would mean that it has been wrong all along, as it was, and in part responsible for the deaths (or missing) of over 1.72 million Ukrainian soldiers and 120,000 ‘Russian’ (largely eastern Ukrainian) soldiers and civilians. And the elite is also responsible for the self-imposed economic crises in their countries, their crumbling infrastructure and mass poverty. That elite has refused time and again to even talk to Russia about peace. It wants war for its military contractors. Soon it will all be voted out by angry electorates and go into the dustbin of history.

The Evils of Dying Globalism

The Ukrainian battlefield was created by the movement of Unionism, the Globalist movement that reigns supreme in the EU and the UK, and reigned supreme in the USA until the end of last year, when ordinary Americans rejected it in their free election – that which is forbidden in Europe and the Ukraine. Although Trump is himself torn by what to do, he must act – the US faces bankruptcy. Peace could have come in the Ukraine at the outset, but it was forbidden by the EU/UK elite and the dark forces in the USA, who are now more and more excluded from positions of power. The US (Kerry) and Russia had agreed to peace and federalisation even in 2014, but the EU opposed it. Globalism and EU expansion to the Ukraine are the Unionist movements that caused the conflict. Western racism and moral bankruptcy are expressed in the words that the West intends to kill all to the last Ukrainian. The future is the federalised and decentralised BRICS world. This is the future for the New Ukraine, which will soon emerge in its new borders. For now, the EU/UK elite still clings on to past imperial power, failing to catch up with Russia and the USA.

Politicians Inside and Outside the Church Oppose the Catholicity of the Church

This conflict between Unionism and Federalism reflects the constant human rejection of the Divine Model of the Holy Trinity, of Unity in Diversity. That Model has always been rejected throughout history by one human extreme or another, by the forces that centralise and so create national injustices and resentments among minorities, and the forces that divide and so cause warring and sectarian factionalism and xenophobia. In this matter the Russian State is at last far in advance of the administration of the Russian Church. The Russian State founded the multipolar BRICS organisation, whereas the Russian Church has remained, like the Greek Church of Constantinople before it, stuck in its centralising, imperialist, one size fits all, past. In the case of the Russian Church, that centralising past is in Sovietism, in the case of Constantinople that centralising power is the old, and new, Cold War of the CIA, which has controlled it, ever since Patriarch Maximos V was deposed in 1948. All the living forces of the Church await the transfiguring breath of the Holy Spirit, Who will bring back the spirit of Catholicity – unity in diversity and long-awaited decentralisation.

The Russian Orthodox Church 2007-2023 and Peace in the Ukraine

The decline of Rome was the natural and inevitable effect of immoderate greatness. Prosperity ripened the principle of decay; the cause of the destruction multiplied with the extent of conquest….Instead of enquiring why the Roman Empire was destroyed, we should rather be surprised that it had subsisted for so long.

History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, Gibbon

Foreword

By the grace of God, all our international parishes, with their Romanian and Russian, Moldovan and Ukrainian, English and European parishioners, live safely within the second largest Local Church, the Patriarchate of Romania. Thus, we are shielded from Russian and Greek schisms and the tragic and divisive consequences of the bitter conflict in the Ukraine. Nevertheless, we cannot help observing the immense temptations that now beset the largest Local Orthodox Church, the Russian, and be concerned about its direction and the future after the Ukrainian conflict is over, which may be quite soon.

Introduction

In order to understand why there is a bloody conflict in the Ukraine today, strangely enough we first have to understand why the Russian Empire fell in 1917. Over a century on, the reason for that is quite clear. The multinational Russian Empire fell because most of its people had lost their Orthodox Faith, the underpinning foundation which had cemented everything together. For when you stop believing in the foundation, you end up in suicidal self-destruction and cynicism.

We can see this today with the Imperial failure of Western Empires, British, French, American etc, also fallen because most have stopped believing in their underpinning ideologies. The Russian crisis in 1917 had been created by a nominal, superficial attitude to the Orthodox Faith, which underpinned all. Most had signed up to the Faith on paper, but did not live by it. They had rejected the consequences and ramifications of the Faith and so lived in hypocritical contradictions, Orthodox but not Christian.

2007

In 2007 the émigré Church Outside Russia (ROCOR) was finally reconciled to the Patriarchal Church inside Russia. We personally considered that this was seven years late, but we had patiently waited for the inevitability, rather than leave for the Patriarchate as some did – better late than never. Having played an active part in the events of the 2006 ROCOR Council and reconciliation and attended the signing of the Act of Canonical Communion in Moscow, I have been asked if I regret it. The answer is crystal clear: Absolutely not. 2007 saved the Church, which kept a huge potential. The fact that it failed to exploit that potential has nothing to do with 2007.

Before 2007 ROCOR was on the verge of becoming a sect, which is why some had already left it. Certain individual ROCOR bishops had even allied themselves to schismatic old calendarist groups in Greece, Romania and Bulgaria! By allying ROCOR with the Patriarchal Church in Moscow, we delayed the possibility of schismatic sectarianism for a vital 14 years. We had gained a breathing space. Some object that ROCOR should not have reconciled with the Patriarchal Church, because it is ‘corrupt’. Of course, there were and still are problems in the Patriarchal Church, but only as there are today in the new ROCOR that has appeared in the last five years.

2023

In both parts of the Russian Church the causes of corruption are very similar: the lack of repentance, the lack of the spiritual. Specifically, there is superstitious ritualism, the vain belief that the sacraments are like magic and require no personal effort to work, only precise ritual observation. This vain belief is essentially materialistic and therefore superficial, for we are not saved by superstitious ritualism, but by the Holy Spirit. Then there is money-oriented careerism, the concept that the Church is a money-making business. This is the very active and very visible temptation of graspingness and love of bling in both parts of the Church. Then there is centralising bureaucracy which puts protocols and forms above the Word of God and Love for our fellow-men. Then there are nationalist political ideologies, the temptation to obey the State, whether the American or the Russian, in other words, you abandon your conscience, integrity and principles because you prefer to swim with the tide for personal advantage, against Christ. This was not the path of the New Martyrs and New Confessors, whom we follow.

This last temptation is especially great for ROCOR, since the political pressures of the declining American Empire could now force all of ROCOR, and not just part of it, into full schism; there the situation is far worse than before 2007, for the unhealthy direction that the New York-based ROCOR has taken since 2018 is the opposite to the healthy one taken before 2007. The danger in all this is that the majority in both parts of the Russian Church, in Moscow and New York, will return to the vices that prevailed before the Revolution – superstitious ritualism, money-oriented careerism, centralising bureaucracy and nationalist political ideologies, all those faults that were present then, as they are now. All of them can cut off from communion with other parts of the Church, destroying the Catholicity of the Church, resulting in isolation. We hope that our Introduction now makes sense, for we are precisely facing another crisis in the Russian Church, as in 1917, the conflict in the Ukraine.

The Conflict in the Ukraine

The manmade catastrophe in the Ukraine has come about because of the lack of Faith, nominalism, on both sides. Do real Christians kill each other? Since this war broke out in 2014, between 160,000 and 250,000 Kiev troops (several thousand of them foreign mercenaries, notably Poles) and 15,000 – 20,000 Russian-Ukrainians and Russians have been killed, together with nearly 14,000 Russian-Ukrainian civilians and nearly 7,000 Ukrainian civilians. In other words, between 200,000 and 290,000 are dead because Kiev was suicidally forced to refuse, to make peace last spring, again last summer and now, when all could have been ended with compromise.

Since 2014 16 million Ukrainians have been displaced – 10 million to various countries in Europe, the majority to Russia and 6 million internally. It is not clear what proportion of those 10 million will ever return to the Ukraine, whose population is now only 18-22 million, given that 4 million have preferred to live under Russian administration in the south-east, an area the size of England and Wales. Kiev has also had about 50 percent of its energy infrastructure destroyed. It requires at least $3 billion a month in outside borrowings just to keep its economy afloat. This debt will never be repaid. Meanwhile a surrounding army of nearly 700,000 Russian soldiers, with, if necessary, their 15,000 tanks, waits to occupy and rebuild the Ukraine. All that NATO could muster against them is 100,000 and 59 tanks though, in any case, it is too frightened to deploy a single one of them, as it knows that it would lose them.

Conclusion

In other words, the conflict in the Ukraine is a call to return to the Faith – to avoid this suicide. That is the choice. It is a Divine warning, as at Siloam: ‘Unless you repent, you will all likewise perish’ (Lk. 13, 5). It is no coincidence that this conflict began in February 2022, the centenary of the founding of the Soviet Union in 1922. For the origins of this conflict are precisely in the unatoned sins of the Soviet apostasy that created February 1917 and the greatest atheist State and persecution of Christianity in world history. After all, to create another Revolution, all you have to do is to repeat the same sins, the sins of those who sinned against the New Martyrs and Confessors.

And it is no coincidence either that the path to reconciliation is in the life of the great twentieth-century Ukrainian saint, the New Confessor, St John the Wonderworker, also known as St John of Shanghai and Western Europe, the Saint of the old, pre-sectarian, pre-schismatic, faithful Russian Emigration. It was he who was persecuted and put on trial by the sectarians and schismatics who claimed to be his own. It was he put the Faith above all their concerns, above their superstitious ritualism, their money-oriented careerism, their centralising bureaucracy and their nationalist political ideologies, which so trouble all parts of the Russian Church again today. Only when Russians and Ukrainians do as he did and put the Kingdom of God and His righteousness first, will there be peace in the Ukraine.

My Life, the Last Battle and the New Orthodox World (N.O.W.)

‘Tell the people: Although I have died, I am alive.’

St John of Shanghai

Foreword: The War

Forty-five years ago I was told by one who could have known better that, as I had been waiting for years to join the Orthodox Church, I now faced a choice: I could either join the Greek Church of Constantinople or the Church of Russia; it was all the same. But only to him was it all the same, as, in spite of, or rather because of, his great intellect, he was spiritually confused. He lived in an alien compromise, washing his hands before the critical choice. I joined the Russian Church because, since the age of twelve, I had known through revelations to my soul that my destiny was most definitely in the Russian Orthodox Church. However crippled it may have been after 1917, I was destined to share in that agony, indeed, although it seemed foolishness to the Jews and to the Greeks alike, only by sharing in that agony could I hope to find my own salvation. I sensed even then that what he had told me was somehow untrue. At best it could only have been a delusion. It was not all the same – and recent very sad events have shown this to all absolutely clearly. Let me explain:

The Church is not to be found in a people who believe that it is a chosen people. Many Hebrews believed that they were the chosen people, but they stoned the prophets and crucified the Son of God. To this day many of their descendants reject Christ, some considering themselves superior to the rest of humanity. Then the Western European elite came to believe in their ‘exceptionalism’ (that is, their claim that they too were above God) too, all in order to justify their organized barbaric aggression. So a thousand years after Christ, they too fell away from the Church, rejecting the Holy Spirit and seizing control of the Church in the West in order to justify their conquistador power-grab. So, like pirates, they began persecuting us ordinary Christians and conquering the rest of the world by fire and the sword. Then their secularist descendants, in turn the Portuguese, Spanish, French, British, German and finally American elites, did exactly the same, demanding world hegemony (‘globalism’), also rejecting Christ because they consider themselves superior to the rest of humanity. (Hence their anti-Semitism: the other ‘chosen people’, the Jews, were rivals to them, therefore they had to be eliminated). In the Church there has now come the turn of certain Greeks, telling us that only they are Christians, that God speaks only Greek, and, as one very well-known Cypriot archimandrite told me, even that their pagan ancestors had prepared the way for Christ! Many Russians fell victim to the same delusion, in the same way believing in themselves instead of believing in God, taking communion only once a year. So they lost everything and overthrew the God-appointed Christian Emperor in 1917. Only through the blood of the New Martyrs and the tears and sweat of the New Confessors did repentance eventually begin to come to them.

All these ‘chosen peoples’ failed to understand that salvation comes only from the Heavenly Jerusalem of the Church of Christ through the Mercy of God and the Holy Spirit – not from some earthly ‘Jewish Rome’ of some mythical ‘chosen people’. For this reason, once I had chosen the Russian Church, I was to spend the rest of my life at war, in tireless battles, in unceasing strife, in the trenches, on the Western Front, fighting for real Christianity, for the real Russian Orthodox Church, together, of course, with many others. We all fought against the narrow-minded, nationalist delusions and impurities of those who had lost the big picture, who could not see the wood for the trees. They told us that only Russians could be Orthodox, that only their own exclusive little fragments of the great Imperial Orthodoxy, which had not undergone the blood, tears and sweat of others, could be right, that God’s Church needed ‘saving’ or ‘reforming’ (naturally, by themselves!). Some of them even persecuted and took to court as a common criminal the greatest saint among them all, St John of Shanghai. Little wonder that the Lord sent me to a military Church. I never sought any of this; it was all imposed on me. My soul would have died had I not taken part in this spiritual warfare. My life has been unceasing warfare in four battles, all fought beneath the Protecting Veil, which my patron-saint saw and which is the only reason why I am still alive.

Three Battles

My first battle was to take part in the struggle to help free that small part of the Russian Church Diaspora in England, which was dependent on Moscow, from spiritual impurity. After nine years, by 1983, I realized that I would fail in this. It was a task quite beyond me, with my very feeble abilities and from my modest, provincial, rural background; the enemies were invested with the strength of a personality cult, with all the authority of men and their city establishments, they had no time for a ploughman’s grandson. I was knocking my head against brick walls. So I left into exile, seeing my limitations. I understood that it would take far-reaching political changes inside Russia and indeed the departures or deaths of some outside Russia before this battle could be won (I did not know then that this would mean twenty-four years). Victory was inevitable, but only God Who created time, could in time bring the victory. My battle had been premature. By myself I could do nothing. It was good for me to know this.

My second battle was to take part in the struggle to help free that small part of the Russian Church Diaspora, which was dependent on Constantinople (Rue Daru), from spiritual impurity. I fought in Paris and thought that this battle was winnable. It was – almost. However, after six years in 1988 there came a turning-point when I saw that I would fail in this battle too. The intrigues of freemasons in high places meant that I could not help win this battle – all my friends were in low places. I knew then that this Paris group would eventually (I did not know then that this would mean thirty years) disappear into spiritual irrelevance. Those who had betrayed the Tsar and made him and his Family into martyrs had also betrayed the Church. So I left, having understood that here too it would take far-reaching political changes inside Russia and indeed the departures or deaths of some outside Russia before the battle to bring even a part of this group home to the Russian Church could be won. Victory was inevitable, but only God Who created time, could with time bring the victory. My battle had been premature. By myself I could do nothing. It was good for me to know this.

My third battle from the first day of 1989 onwards was to take part in the struggle to help free that part of the Russian Church Diaspora, which was dependent on New York (ROCOR), from spiritual impurity. Here there was a much greater chance of success, for the contaminating Protestant disease of ‘super-correctness’ (as another disciple of St John of Shanghai called it), with its ignorance, phariseeism, extremism, sectarianism, old calendarism, psychological (not theological) deviations of convertitis and Cold War money, had many opponents in the USA itself and even more in Western Europe where I was fighting on the Front. And above all, my Diocesan Archbishop supported me and I supported him. The ever-memorable Archbishop Antony of Geneva, a spiritual son of and the European successor to St John of Shanghai, was in effect the first real Orthodox bishop I had met. We had an identical understanding of the Church. By myself I could do nothing, but now I was far from being alone; I was simply one of very many, a little cog in a large machine. I did not know then that this struggle would take eighteen years, for only in 2007 did the Church win the day. I was taking part in our first victory, together with millions of others, in the Church of the New Martyrs and Confessors, to which I had always belonged in spirit. Only geography had ever divided us.

After the Three Battles

Once this battle, in which I had played only a tiny role, eventually from my provincial home-town, had been won by the many, especially by the bishops who had been inspired by the grace of God, I knew that the two other houses of cards where I had earlier lost the day would fall in their turn. I just did not know that it would take another twelve years. Between 2007 and today, in 2019, I have seen both these first lost battles won. History won them. What I knew in the past, that they would be won only in God’s own time, has come to pass. What we have fought long and hard for has been obtained. Thus, we now at last have for our Diocese of the British Isles and Ireland a bishop, pleaded for during over four decades. He is Orthodox, understanding the local language and people, not phyletist, venerating the local saints and not denying them, missionary-minded like us, encouraging us and not destroying us, not under the control of laypeople, in good health, and who will be resident here in just a few weeks from now.

Secondly, the Russian Orthodox Exarchate of Western Europe, awaited for over three decades, was at last established in Paris only a few weeks ago. This means that our House will be built on rock, not on sand, and that the ‘Euro-Orthodox’ fantasy of the Paris Brotherhood is now dead. The future Local Church of Western Europe will be authentically Orthodox. For what we have sought for and fought for since 1988 now is. There is now a real Orthodox Exarchate for Western Europe, with many regional dioceses and young bishops, hundreds of parishes and several monasteries, venerating the local saints and not denying them, the foundation of the new Local Church. Led by Metropolitan John in Paris, who bears the name of our missionary father in Christ, St John of (Shanghai and) Western Europe and so continues in the tradition of Archbishop Antony of Geneva, it will of course need much more time to develop. It consists of the generally newer Russian Orthodox parishes of Western Europe, in many dioceses and with many bishops. However, alongside it and complementing it, also stand the two (Western European and German) dioceses of ROCOR, with their five bishops, two of them younger and active. This consists of the generally older, more integrated, Russian Orthodox parishes of Western Europe, a few of them until recently under Constantinople, but now at last come home. The two parts need each other and hopefully their bishops will meet regularly in order to help each other in their own joint Synod.

However, in this Year of the Lord, 2019, there is the last mystical battle (last for me) in the series of mystical battles in this Hundred Years’ War, which for a century has so deformed Church structures in the Diaspora. This battle is also against spiritual impurity, against masonic ecumenist and modernist intrigues. However, this last battle is the battle inside the Russian Lands, inside historic Rus’; it is therefore not a local battle for English, French and American Rus’ in London, Paris and New York, for part of the small Russian Diaspora, it is a general battle which concerns the whole Church. This is taking place today in the Ukraine, but it affects all. For the Church is the mystical centre of the world and it is the Ukraine which is now the mystical centre of the Church. And this is why we have come here now, sent to fight from the Western Front to the Eastern Front. All will stand or fall by their attitude to what is happening in the Ukraine today, to this battle between Christ and Satan. Whose side are you on?

The Fourth Battle

The internal administrative centre of the false Orthodoxy against which I fought in all our four battles, was formed in Istanbul a century ago. It came into being only because of the long-planned overthrow of the restraining protection of Imperial Tsardom. However, the Western disease which had overthrown the Christian Emperor and so the Christian Empire and then brought that centre into being had already infected Russia and elsewhere before that. For the disease contaminated all nationalities, including many in the Russian Lands and from there in the Diaspora. The disease came to be called renovationism and the renovationists were keenly supported from Istanbul. Today it has become crystal clear that the whole of the supposed Orthodox world has now to side either with real Orthodoxy or else against real Orthodoxy. The time of reckoning has come; the time of compromise is over. No-one can stand by any longer with the indifference and conceit of Pilate. Even though this battle is of exactly the same nature as the series of three battles which we fought in the Diaspora before this one, now it is not the Diaspora, but the Ukraine which is the sword that divides. The battlefield has changed to the Ukraine, but the battle is the same one; it is the battle for spiritual purity, for canonicity, for real Orthodoxy.

Gradually, over the last two months, one Local Church after another has decided to side with spiritual purity, canonicity and real Orthodoxy and so support Metr Onufry and the Church of God of the Ukraine. The rest of the Russian Church with ROCOR was the first to support him wholeheartedly. The Local Churches of Serbia, Bulgaria, Antioch, Poland, the Czech Lands and Slovakia, Cyprus, and unofficial but spiritually free (= non-political) voices in the Churches of Greece, Jerusalem, Alexandria and Georgia, followed. So far, thirteen out of eighteen Athonite monasteries have joined us. And a few days ago the episcopate of the basically Carpatho-Russian OCA (Orthodox Church in America), which had dithered for several weeks and where some had for years even been threatening to desert the Church for Istanbul, decided the same. This is their spiritual victory and our very great comfort after decades of spiritual slumber, of wandering far from the Church with American phyletist delusions. It means that the little OCA is maturing, at last deciding to accept its destiny, abandoning its eccentric spiritual isolation and so finding its positive identity by returning to its roots under St Tikhon. Inspired by the breath of new life, it can at last begin to play a significant and fulfilling role as one of the component parts of the future, united, much larger, multinational Russian Orthodox Churches of the three continents of the New World, of the Americas and Oceania.

This leaves the episcopates of only two Local Churches, the large Romanian and the tiny Albanian, not politically free and sitting on the fence, paralysed like Pontius Pilate ‘for fear of the Jews’. They are silent, neither supporting nor rejecting, awaiting instructions from above on whether to support the petty nationalism of the phyletist schism of Constantinople or not. The false church in the Ukraine, founded by the US-backed separatists in Kiev, is officially under a certain Sergei Dumenko. He is actually a Vatican- and US-approved puppet-layman, therefore both pro-Uniat and pro-LGBT, and not a metropolitan, His false church has been seen to be without grace, without sacraments, without the Holy Spirit. His church is that of ‘the Ukrainian god’, as one Ukrainian minister has put it. His enthronement in Kiev six days ago was ignored by all the Local Churches. His so-called ‘Church’ is only a regime-manipulated charade of empty rituals, just another small ultra-nationalist organization – an absurd anachronism in this global world. It is supported by teams of police-backed Nazi bandits who intimidate and beat up Christians, because Nazis have no concept of the meaning of the word ‘Christian’. And these anti-Christian men of violence are directly supported by an alien and corrupt political regime in Kiev, supported by alien and corrupt regimes elsewhere, and, to their eternal shame, by Greek ‘bishops’ in Istanbul.

Afterword: The Victory

The decadent, self-appointed, Paris-School ‘theologians’ from the past slip away one by one. With them their secularizing ideologies from the past, Ecumenism (anti-Orthodoxy; against the Father), Modernism (anti-Sovereignty; against the Son) and Liberalism (anti-People; against the Holy Spirit), slip away into spiritual irrelevance. Their books of intellectual fantasy-philosophy are ready for the dust of forgotten library shelves. Those who frustrated, wasted, impeded and persecuted us for so many decades are leaving the stage and we are beginning to see the future clearly now. For the New Orthodox World (N.O.W.) is taking shape. The New Orthodox World (NOW) is led not by anachronisms, relics from the past in cities of empires which have not existed for centuries, but by vibrant and missionary multinational Local Churches, Autonomous Churches and Exarchates worldwide. These are not narrow and corrupted nationalist museums for State rituals, flag-waving and cultural nostalgia or the playthings of disincarnate but very aggressive, politicized and politically correct, liberal intellectuals, but living organisms, cleansed to prepare us all to meet the King before He returns in all His glory. And in the New Orthodox World, NOW, there is the Heavenly Jerusalem of the Church of Christ, awaiting Him and resisting the Enemy of Mankind, who comes before Christ in order to create disunity, disorder and distress among us.

The death-threat which I received three years ago, sent me because the pen is indeed mightier than the sword, did not stop me or deter me for a single second. In a dream, come to me after receiving that death-threat, I opened my front door and saw an agent on my doorstep. He at once fired his revolver at me, but the bullet rebounded off my priest’s cross, killing him instead of me. He fell to the ground and his corpse was dragged away to a waiting car by his colleague, who in fear and astonishment uttered powerless curses. I left and hid in a secret and remote place where I could not be found. I was rescued by the prayers of one who long, long ago had also taken refuge in such a place and I was taken to a faraway land. I have never paid any attention to dreams, especially such dramatic ones, but I remembered this one. However, I only really understood its meaning and symbolism on my first day here. It means that, like all of us, I will die when God decides, not when men decide, for though man proposes, God disposes. It means that the bullet rebounds, for if men want to kill the truth, they kill only themselves (exactly as they have done for the last one hundred and five years, with their atheist wars, one after another). And those who try to kill the Church in the Ukraine are committing spiritual suicide; indeed, their death-bearing bullet has already lethally rebounded onto themselves.

Victory has been ours in the Diaspora, because we have been willing to die for the Church of God and our enemies have not – because they are inherently attached to this world and so fear death which is of this world. Victory is ours in the Ukraine, because we are willing to die for the Church of God and our enemies are not – because they are inherently attached to this world and so fear death which is of this world. This is why we shall win this last battle now – because we do not fear death, for we believe and we know that Christ is the Life-Giving God, Who rose from the dead and freed the captives in hell. They, however, have only heard of the Risen Christ as a theory and symbolic myth for their heads. They believe it not in their hearts. Therefore their heads, like their lives, are full of the philosophies and works of death. But we do believe and we know and we tremble in awe before the Living God, Who is the Great God, Who works wonders and Who is with us, so that none is against us. Let the dead bury the dead. As for us, we shall not die, but live, and we shall declare the works of the Lord. The Lord is our Enlightenment and our Saviour, whom then shall we fear?

On War and Military Saints

At first sight it may seem strange that there are military saints, soldiers who became holy martyrs. But we can think of many examples from many countries: St Sabbas the Commander (+ 272), St George (+ 303), St Dimitry (+ 304), St Alban (+ 305), St Theodore the Recruit (+ 306), St Theodore the Commander (+ 319), St Alfred the Great (+ 899), St Alexander Nevsky (+ 1263) and more recently the admiral, St Thedore (Ushakov) (+ 1817).

True, in paradise there will be no armies, because there will be no war, just as in paradise there will be no police and no prisons because there will be no crime. But we live in the real world as it is and anyone from any background can become a saint. Indeed, in the Gospels, there is no condemnation of the soldiers who appear there and, one of them, the centurion, is praised and another, Longinus, who stood at the foot of the cross and confessed that Christ is indeed the Son of God, became a saint.

And yet in the Book of Exodus the sixth commandment states: ‘Thou shalt not kill’. However, from the same chapter and the following chapters, it is clear that this means that we must not murder out of hatred or for some other evil reason, for instance, because we want to get someone else’s money or property, or out of love of glory. But does this mean that we could kill someone for another reason? For example, if we saw someone in the street trying to kill someone to get their money, does this mean that we should defend that person?

Suppose we were an armed policeman and we saw a terrorist with a gun or bomb and he was threatening to kill lots of people, elderly people, women and children among them, and he could not see us and we had the chance to stop him and that resulted in killing him, would that be forbidden? Of course not, it would be irresponsible of us not to act in defence of others. In such situations where we are able to defend others, not to defend would simply be cowardice on our part.

The fact is that in this world we are often faced by choices and the choice we have to make is what we call ‘the lesser evil’. However, we must be very careful here: such a choice applies only in the case of defending others. So in every country armed forces are controlled by something called ‘The Ministry of Defence’. But do the armed forces really defend? Sadly, they often seem to do the opposite and attack, to offend.

It is the same with us. If we are aggressive and attack others, even killing them, that is wrong. Indeed, priests and monks are forbidden from taking up weapons to defend themselves. But if we are defending those who are weaker than ourselves, that can be justified. Here there is no hatred for an individual, just the responsible desire to protect others. Here there is no selfishness, we are not defending ourselves or our property or money or showing off our strength, we are protecting others, perhaps people we do not even know.

Yes, as Christians we are called on to love our enemies, but that means not to feel no personal hatred for them. Why? Because they are victims of their bad passions, the victims of evil. So to love our enemies does not mean that we should not defend others. War in defence of the weak is a lesser evil than declining war and surrendering to the power of barbaric terrorists. A soldier for us is not some self-satisfied murderer, but a noble hero who sacrifices himself by defending the weak.
